Michael, I’m honored. Now that darkness is upon us ( in more than one sense of the word) I will do my best to bring some sunshine to the world.

I found answering the questions and thinking about other people and just free writing as time well spent. :-)

Thank you for answering the questions and selecting your own group of nominees. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Nice musical selections; the Rickie Lee Jones and Frank Sinatra songs are great, and it was interesting to hear Peter McPoland but it does suffer slightly by comparison -- I was conscious of his youth compared to their experience -- but it fits the question to highlight someone who's coming into their own.

I’m not saying Peter McPoland is great. He’s interesting.

Here’s what I thought when I first heard Steve Forbert’s β€œRomeo’s Tune” which I felt McPoland is an heir to: It’s got crazy beautiful energy but I don’t think it’s gonna work. I was wrong with Forbert. It’s gorgeous and lasting.

Maybe I’m a sucker for the small fries, but I root for them EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Early vespers. β€œRomeo’s Tune” Steve Forbert (1979, live, somewhere, who cares cos this is that) <3
