That piece by Henderson was just what I needed. Iβve been dipping my toes into other areas of social media, and trying not to hate it.
My teenage daughter is like, βwhat, do you want to be an influencer or somethingββ¦and Iβm like, no! I just want people to eventually read my shit π
I liked this he wrote too: βA writer also needs room to wander. You need time to notice things, talk to people, and follow small ideas that might turn into bigger ones. A lot of βwritingβ (meaning mental effort that you will put on the page later) happens in the space between tasks, when you are not sure you are even working.β
Wow. Thank you for the shoutout. The more I look at my new logo the more Iβm reminded how much itβs inspired by a charming 80s Lisa Frank esque variety store from my youth that opened in Rockford Illinois and I think had βWhateverβ in its name. Chock full of interesting notepads of every shape and color, neon swirly pens and stickers that smelled like chocolate and tickled the senses and of course the sticker books. I could have spent the rest of my life in that store. Your mention just prompted this trip. Thank you, my friend!
My plan going forward with StoryShedding is calling out things that tickle me or fascinate on Substack. Donβt change a thing youβre doing. Itβs great!
Aiming for a digest a week, so thanks for the support, Ellen! Hoping I can make it useful to others and not just an add-on to the βstack regular season work. π€
This reminded me of watching a wonderful variety show! I really enjoyed it!
Aw, thanks Ingrid! I'm sorta floored to read your comment because that's the vibe I was going for! lol.
It the first thing that came to mind :)

Definitely. There was so much in there I needed to hear.
Glad you liked it. Please share StoryShedding. Hereβs to hoping it grows and endures!
Eggactly.

That was really fun!
I quite liked what AI came up with - serving tea to a badger.
Only played a little bit of the War song, it's such an earworm. But such a good 70s memory.

A fine "steampunk" essay, Mr. Storysled!
Thanks for stopping by, Wayne!
