This is a lot. In a good way. I identify with the sadness and yet, I have to say the music at the end made me feel downright patriotic in a beautiful way. I think we may remember and revive a deeper love of country after all of this.
May we love our country enough not to let all this calloused cruelty shit on it much longer.
Thanks, Laury. I've been a fan of Saint-SaΓ«ns since hearing "Carnival of the Animals" as a child! I didn't know he wrote this piece for the United States, particularly California! There has to be an absorbing biography of him out there I need to read. And grateful for your comment. Hope all is well with you and yours! MM
Bi-monthly. Only six issues a year? Itβs biweekly. I looked it up because The Big Takeoverβs Jack Rabid and I talked about the misuse between biweekly (every other week) and biannual (every other year). His mag his semi-annual: twice a year. Semi-weekly is twice a week. If you Google it, the AI is wrong in suggesting usage has changed. Thereβs another thing to worry about, Michael. Keep soldiering on in the occupation of Minnesota by the federal government, a daily, hourly, minute by minute trauma.
I think everyone knew what you meant. And we all stand with you as the federal government treats Your region as a hostile foreign power. It is beyond sickening.
Thanks so much, Wayne. It was encouraging to be out yesterday among so many fellow Minnesotans (I'm not born and bred, but long enough to claim it I guessβessentially I'm a Hoosier via the East Coast)...stopped off after the march at a packed brewpub and the energy was crackling. This morning, yeah, beyond sickening again. :-|
Iβm sorry youβre down, pal. Understandable, given pretty much everything. Stay strong.
Thanks for checking in, Chris. It feels weird to play with words in a world so dark, but deep down I have to do it to stay sane.
