In the Sandbox #25
Enough Stargazing...let's do some Daytalking
So, tomorrow, Nov. 27, 2022, isโฆmy birthday.
Those of you within traveling distance of Minneapolis/St. Paul are cordially invited to join me and a smattering of friends for a Birthday Brunch (not fancy at all) at:
Bark and the Bite, 2186 Marshall Avenue, St. Paul, MN, right down by the olโ Mississippi River (click this link for menu and directions). 11:00am to whenever. Come see me in my natural habitatโBRUNCH! Iโve been meaning to try their Bloody Mary, but I know they make a mean Negroniโand the BBQ (Memphis style) is nothing to sneeze at! This will be a super informal get-together, so please stop by. We can also do some Daytalking IRL. Wow. Just like old times.
Good new things are in the works as we close out 2022! Iโm sort of excited.

Hoping to shift this Substack into higher gear in 2023, and talks are in the works for new work and maybe some travel. And writing by fountain pen once again. And yet more writing! Hooray!
For this weekโs โIn the Sandboxโ (our weekend community confab around each aspect of Daytalking, Nightwalking, and Stargazing, where we workshop a bit and share ideas with each other), letโs have some fun for a change, along with forthcoming holidays, birthdays, and thinking about Daytalking and its benefits.
Daytalking is relationalโbut it doesnโt necessarily involve talk! However it nearly always involves play, which Iโm a big fan of.
A couple years ago an old friend and I noodled new cocktail names for drinks we were experimenting withโkudos goes to his being the winnerโthe โThigh Bruiseโ (ouch)โwhich I think had Blue Curacao in it and maybe some dry gin. I forget.
So hereโs your prompt for this Sandbox:
Noodle a two-word nonsense name for a cocktailโif youโre feeling particularly noodly, make it a triple worder.
Based on your cocktail name, the rest of us have to figure out whatโs in it. (This is the interactive part.)
Have fun!
See you tomorrow at BATB or in the comments below! Best, MM

Here's my noodled name for my holiday drink of choice: Wallace on the Berg. Any guesses?
