In the Sandbox #22
New! Nightwalking and Stargazing integration poll
โItโs hard times befallen the sole survivors / She thinks Iโm crazy, but Iโm just growinโ old.โ โSteely Dan, โHey Nineteenโ
Question: When has change so disrupted you that you couldnโt even imagine the future?
That pretty much describes my past summer. Itโs ironic, because things are so โstableโ that, well, six years ago I wouldโve killed to be where I am now.
*Sigh*
We get restless, us natives.
After months of thinking, โIโll definitely have time this summer to go through archives, old writing drafts, files out of order, photographs, memorabilia, etc.,โ that last Thursday I finally schlepped boxes around at least in piles of 1) photos in disarray; 2) writing files out of filing order; 3) books Iโve wanted to keep but havenโt shelved; and 4) miscellaneous crap (ALWAYS misc. crapโas it has been since the beginning of time).

Itโs been tough.
At base, I havenโt had the will. But that tends to change in autumn with the threat of winter. I get more active, which is the reverse of what most people do. Summer has always been a lazy, thoughtless time for me. Fall is more my season.
So, with that in mind, whatโs life like back In the Sandbox?
Sad, actually. Leaves have fallen over the sand, which has moldered from disuse. Nobody wants to come out to play, which piles on the sadness.
Amongst my Nightwalking, itโs probably best to test the Stargazing waters again, so this weekโs prompt will be so simple you wonโt need to raise a finger (well, if you can click on a poll, youโre as good as gold).
Now that we have over 50 lovely people in this cohort, Iโd like to get a bead on yโall, since it ties in with the above Steely Dan lyric. The more who respond, the better.
Hereโs the poll:
Thanks for chiming in (via the poll or in the comments belowโor heck, both?) and see you next time. Enjoy your autumn!
